Savvy is a student at NYU, majoring in mythology. She and her friend Hadley, also studying mythology, have long-running debates about vampire romances.

"Everything happened in slow motion, my first thought was Hadley was dead for making me wear these shoes, and the second was that I was certain I was about to ruin our night out. Someone caught me around the waist and turned me around at the same time. It looked like he had just dipped me, like we were doing the Tango. People started clapping for us and a giggle escaped my lips.

"I looked up to see the person who saved me from one of the most embarrassing moments of my life and when we made eye contact it felt like I knew him. His green eyes seemed to have flecks of purple in them and his lips were wet and full. His face was chiseled; he had a sharp straight nose. An unexpected rapid fire built in my stomach and spread through my body. A blush accompanied the fire and spread across my chest and face. I stayed in his arms staring, telling myself I was in shock, until he stood me on my feet."

Savvy sees Stephen, her rescuer and hero, again in her history class. Stephen is the guest speaker on the Salem Witch Trials. His great-great grandmother was an accused witch.

The Bishop Witches Bound by the Craft Book 1 edition by Ruby Knight Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

I am so thrilled to begin this new series! I am an avid lover of witches and their unique magic as well as the bonded romance they share...after finishing my hp mallory series, jolie Watkins, I searched and searched for another story to compete..I read and tried many different authors and series but nothing could come close...until now! So happy to have found the bishop witches and share the very well written, beautifully designed settings and amazing characters that I have in this book... read it one day and cannot wait for the second book to read. To clarify, she it sated my void of myprevious reading by no mallory, a I finally found a book to soak myself in to, the two diff authors and series were very unique, yet held th at metaphysical commanality
I enjoyed the mystery, suspense, and surprises throughout the story. The main characters were well-developed. It was exciting and fascinating. Truly a page-turner with a LOT of potential. Loved the layers and twists in the plot. Savvy's personality was likable, funky, and believable - a great combination.
However, there were run-on sentences in almost every paragraph - to a very distracting degree. The grammar was lacking. This novel definitely could use some hard-core editing to make it ready for main-stream publishing.
I also wasn't a huge fan of some of the language. Along a similar note, I felt the main relationship didn't need the rapid jump to 'home base' at the end. It could have been better-developed by the more chivalrous direction it was heading prior to that final seemingly out-of-character leap. Personal preference, yes. But, if this is YA fiction, it wouldn't hurt to convey a message that holds truer to the 'you don't have to give it up after knowing someone for 1 week' message. The entire novel, til the end, seemed to give that air, so I was a little shocked when Savvy changed her mind at the end.
In all, it was an exciting, can't-put-it-down novel with GREAT potential!
Desperately needs editing. The story line was somewhat entertaining—basically what I consider to be brain-candy. I had a very hard time reading it, however, because of the atrocious lack of editing. It was full of run-on sentences, incomplete sentences, switches from first to third person, and a complete lack of proper punctuation. It seemed to have been written by someone with not much more than an elementary school understanding of the rudiments of the English language. Although, I would be interested in following the stories of the other characters, I doubt that I'll bother reading any other books in the series because it gives me such a brain strain to to try and follow the plot amid all the errors and the extraneous filler added to the story line.
The Bishop Witches is just the beginning in the story of Savannah Martin and her discovery of magic and witchcraft.
Knight does a great job of keeping the biggest twist hidden throughout the story so that the reader is surprised with the big reveal at the end.
With a voice that will make you laugh out loud, Knight shines in bringing her character's personalities to life.
Although there is more to be desired in the back story and a few character developments, this will bode well for Knight as the reader will follow her through to the end of her series to see if good magic will prevail and if Savannah will truly claim her power and be bound to the irresistible Stephen.
With Knight bringing magic to life in New York City, the reader will find themselves thinking maybe witches are real, after all.
I liked the first half of this book, maybe even the first two-thirds of the book, but it fell apart towards the end. The characters were well developed at the beginning and through the mid-point. I'm not sure that I'll pick up the rest of the series at this point, mainly due to the rushed feeling to the last third of the book and some strange character development points.

*Detail that may contain a spoiler*

There is a point where Jeremiah reveals that he shape-shifted into another crucial character and that character never actually existed outsider (as in that character was actually Jeremiah the whole time). It doesn't make sense to me that at one crucial point Savannah is talking with one character and the other character walks in through the door. If they were indeed always one person then that scene could not happen.

There are a few other places that things like that happen. If the storyline was cleaned up a bit I would change my rating to 4 stars.
